William Ray “Bill” Goad, II, age 73 of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023. Bill was born in Scottsville, Kentucky on October 15, 1949 to the late William Ray Goad and the late Elena Victoria Reynolds Goad Warden. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Willis Goad and his brother, Stan Goad. Bill is survived by his brother, Pat Goad (Elaine); nieces and nephews, Katie Perkins (Justin), Ryan Goad (Jessica Willis), Ashley King (Phillip), and Laura Brott (Sam); several great nieces and great nephews and a host of friends. Bill was a longtime resident of Hendersonville and truly loved the city. He was a graduate of the first Hendersonville Citizens Police Academy and was an active volunteer with their alumni association. Bill was active in the Al Menah Shrine Temple and currently served as President of the Hendersonville Shrine Club. Bill will be missed by many including his coffee and lunch buddies who he was with almost daily. A Celebration of Life Gathering to honor Bill will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside. There will be some brief remarks at 5:30 P.M. given by John Bradley and the visitation will continue after that. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital or the Hendersonville Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association.
