William Franklin Futrell, Jr. was born in Linton, KY, on March 31, 1924 but raised in Cadiz, KY and he passed away on Saturday. July 1, 2017 at his residence in Gallatin, TN at the age of 93.
William was the son of William Franklin and Gertrude Francis Futrell. He was a steel mill crane operator and he loved gardening, wood working and carpentry, auto mechanic baseball and telling old time stories from his childhood days.
Mr. Futrell was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Harrison Futrell, parents, William Franklin and Gertrude Francis Futrell, brothers, Jessie, Arvel and Joe Futrell, sister, Ruby Futrell Mitchuson and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry and Montie Futrell both of Gallatin, two daughters, Brenda Futrell of Lebanon and Angela Futrell Young of Gallatin, nephew, Jerry Hoger of Oregon, and niece, Kay Rogers of Cadiz, KY. Eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 6, 2017, 2-8 pm at Crestview Funeral Home located at 1623 Old Hwy 109 N, Gallatin, TN. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 2 PM at Crestview Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Sumner Memorial Gardens in Gallatin.
