Dr. William R. "Bill" Caldwell MD, age 71 of Gallatin, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2020. Dr. Caldwell was born February 14th, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Gustavious Henry Caldwell and the late Naomi Rudolph Caldwell. Dr. Caldwell was the founder, president and leader of Gallatin Women's Center for over 32 years. He welcomed over 4,700 newborns into the world, and he improved the lives of countless patients and touched the lives of all who knew him. He was an avid golfer and longstanding member of Gallatin Country Club. He was loved by many and will be sorely missed. Dr. Caldwell is survived by his beloved wife, Ginger Caldwell; children, Christopher Reyburn (Tanis) of Denver, CO, Erin Elizabeth Caldwell Rutherford of Mobile, AL, David William (Asher) Caldwell of Portland, OR, Spencer Christian Rearick of Gallatin; grandchildren, Marshall James Reyburn, Claire Frances Reyburn, Myles Christopher Reyburn, Scarlett Rose Rutherford, Zane Rutherford, and Bronson Davis; and sister, Maryann Caldwell Hargrove (Charles) of Tulsa, OK. A Celebration of Dr. Caldwell’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020, 11:00 A.M. in the Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church Gallatin with Dr. Ted Hill and Rev. James Johnson officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Friday, June 5, 2020 from 4-8 P.M. in Ramsey Hall at FUMC Gallatin, and on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. The family respectfully requests that anyone attending follows social distancing guidelines to the best of their ability. While masks are not required, those attending are strongly encouraged to wear one.
