Willard Gene "Andy" Anderson

Willard Gene “Andy” Anderson, 83, of Gallatin and formerly of Millington, TN passed away August 20, 2020. Willard was born April 17, 1937 in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota to Julia Moen Anderson and Alfred Anderson, a Swedish immigrant. Willard was the fifth of nine children. He served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, working primarily as an airplane mechanic, including two tours in Vietnam. He married Clara Cooper Barnes in 1958. He was stationed in Millington at the time of his military retirement and continued to live there for many years before moving to Sumner County to be closer to family. Andy was preceded in death by his parents and wife, as well as brothers Milton, Kenny, and Gordon Anderson, and sister Delores Onsum. He is survived by his son Michael Anderson and wife Jennifer, by his grandsons and their wives, Thomas and Emily Anderson, and William “Robbie” and Candi Anderson, and by his great-grandchildren Lilly Jones, Gracie Anderson, and William “Hudson” Anderson. He also leaves behind siblings Doris Lachowitzer of Pelican Rapids, MN, Janet (Karl) Hrdlicka of Benton, LA, Sharon (Roger) Wright of Coon Rapids, MN, and Roger Anderson, who travels the country.
