Troy Allen Waters Sr.

Troy Allen Waters Sr., age 60 of Portland, TN passed away March 21, 2025, in Portland. He was born on August 1, 1964 in Gallatin, TN to Herman Waters Jr. and Peggy Elaine Little Briley.

Troy lived most of his life in Sumner County, his early years between Portland and Gallatin. He attended Sumner County schools. He met Jerry when he was 18, while they were working for the same company. A ZZ Top concert brought them together and the rest was history. Troy was a family man at heart and loved them dearly. Family was always first… no matter what was needed, he would find a way. In his earlier years, when he was able, he helped engage with the elderly through community outreach. He loved the outdoors and being surrounded by nature. He liked to fish, play horseshoes and cornhole with his sons. He was also an avid football fan. Troy will be remembered as a kind, compassionate person and one who truly enjoyed helping others.

He is survived by his ex-wife, Jerry Waters; oldest son, Troy Allen Waters Jr.; youngest son, Chase Matthew Waters; siblings, Theresa Wade and Tim Waters; and many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Troy's life will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at Victory Chapel, 800 N Broadway Portland, TN 37148. The family will begin receiving friends at 10:00 AM. Flowers will be accepted.
