Teresa Graves, age 58 of Bethpage, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 9, 1966, in Gallatin, Tennessee, Teresa dedicated her life to caring for others both personally and professionally. For over 35 years, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Sumner Regional Medical Center, where her compassion and commitment shone brightly.
Teresa was a gentle soul with a calm spirit, known for her warm and welcoming nature. She had an innate ability to make those around her laugh, bringing joy to every gathering she attended. A proud graduate of the Gallatin High School Class of 1984, she carried her humble demeanor throughout her life, touching the hearts of many.
Her faith and dedication to the community were evident in her role as a faithful member of Bethpage Community Church. There, she found a second family and a place to express her love for God and her community. Teresa's exuberance for life extended beyond her professional world; her hobbies included shopping, camping, and traveling to the beach and mountains with her cherished family, moments she treasured deeply.
Her greatest pride came from her family, for whom she devoted herself wholeheartedly. Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Steve Graves, and their children: Amanda Ross-Gregory (Kelly), Sara Joy Scott (Michael), Mary Ruth Dixon (Kenny), Haley Barker (Kevin), and Glenda Troutt (Brandon). The bond she shared with her grandchildren—Brooklyn, Bridger, Jaylyn, Harper, Greyson, Eli, Tate, Maddie, and Millie—brought her immeasurable joy and fulfillment.
Teresa also leaves behind her brother, Tommy Cox (April), along with several nieces, nephews, and special friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Cox and Wanda Boone, and her in-laws, Ewing and Doris Ross, and Delano and Ruth Graves. While her physical presence will be missed, her spirit of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the many lives she touched.
A visitation in her honor will take place on March 1, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, both at Bethpage Community Church, located at 3140 US-31E, Bethpage, TN 37022.
Teresa was more than just a caretaker; she was a light in the lives of her family and friends. Her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her.
