Sandra Wright Upton, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and treasured friend, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee, surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 12, 1946, in Florence, Alabama, Sandra was a proud graduate of Coffee High School. Throughout her life, she was known for her vibrant personality and was affectionately dubbed "Fancy" by her cherished nieces and nephews.
A dedicated realtor for many years, Sandra found immense joy and fulfillment in her profession, skillfully guiding her clients through the process of finding their perfect homes. Her affinity for connecting with others extended beyond her career; she was a true social butterfly, reveling in the company of family and friends, and fostering relationships that enriched the lives of those around her.
Sandra is survived by her loving children, daughter Alicia Georgiou (Chris) and son Jason Upton (Ellie), who carry forward her legacy of warmth and kindness. She was a proud grandmother to Emma Georgiou and Sheldon Upton, whose lives she filled with love and joy. Also left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Peggy Haynes and Sharon Williams, along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who held a special place in her heart. Additionally, she is remembered by her former spouse, Jon Upton (Vicki), and many dear friends who were fortunate to know her.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Motier Wright, her brothers Don Wright and Paul Wright, as well as her brother-in-law, Bill Haynes. While her physical presence has departed, her spirit continues to shine through the countless lives she touched.
A visitation will be held in honor of Sandra on May 3, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. These services will take place at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, located at 525 New Shackle Island Rd, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
Sandra's love, light, and laughter will be profoundly missed but remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hydrocephalus Foundation.
