Samuel E. Cron, age 91 of Gallatin passed away peacefully March 7, 2021 at his home. Sam was born on September 10, 1929 in Fountain Head, TN to the late Perkins Edward Cron and the late Clara Suttle Cron. Sam served in the United States Navy and was retired from the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Yan Kwai Cron. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Barb) Walker and her husband John of Gallatin; grandchildren, Taylor Walker and wife Katie of Gallatin and Caleb Walker of Hendersonville; great-grandchildren, Xander, Harper Kate and Jack Walker; brother, Bill Bradley of Portland; and dear friend and caregiver, Sonny Thongmanivong. Funeral Services honoring Mr. Cron will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church Gallatin with Dr. Travis Fleming and Rev. Chuck Neugebauer officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 4-7 P.M. and on Friday one hour prior to the service all at the church. In accordance with CDC and local guidelines, masks and social distancing will be required. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sumner County Food Bank or the Salvus Center.
