Ruby Juanita Harshbarger, age 86 of Hendersonville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 in Nashville.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, William and Myrtle Eaton;
husband, Larry; sister Betty Eaton; brothers Jim Eaton, Paul Eaton, and Bill Eaton.
She is survived by her sons, Rod (Gale) Cook, Paul (Jane) Cook, Mark (Kathy) Harshbarger, Mike (Jeanie) Harshbarger and Mitch (Melissa) Abbott; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby retired from Walmart after twenty-six years, where she developed close and lasting friendships. She loved to travel; she spent time in England and Scotland several years ago. She always enjoyed Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado, but her favorite destination was the sunshine and sand of any beach. Ruby was without a doubt Ray Price’s #1 fan, from seeing him perform live many times to always having his music playing in her house and car. She knew all the words and would sing along to every one of his songs.
Ruby really enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her buddies at Christian Manor, where she resided. She also had a lot of fun as a member of the Red Hat Ladies.
For the last several years, Ruby loved serving the patients and staff as a volunteer at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center.
“Grandma Ruby” was loved and will be missed by her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
