Roy Frederick Milton, Jr.

Roy Frederick Milton, Jr., age 95 of Hendersonville, TN and formerly of Richmond, VA, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2023. Roy was born on October 20, 1927 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Roy Frederick Milton, Sr. and the late Ruth White Richardson Milton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Morgan Douglas Milton (Sang Ok).

Roy is survived by his daughter, Tammy Wolfe (Bill); brother, Paul Calvert Milton (Maria); surrogate grandchildren, Robin Lee (Chris) and Amanda Harper (Glen), daughters of Wayne and Carolyn Mann; and Rebecca and Hannah Ripley, daughters of Dave and Kathy Ripley; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, “Two.”

Roy lived in Bumpass, VA until 2019 when he moved to Hendersonville to be near his daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed running -completing several marathons and 10K races, biking, cutting his grass, and playing guitar, which he began playing at age 80. He traveled many times over the years to Iowa visiting his daughter, Tammy, where they had great times together. Roy was a retired fixer from American Filtrona in Richmond, VA where he was employed for 35 years; prior to that he was employed with the railroad and DuPont for several years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

In accordance with his wishes, Roy was cremated and there are no services scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
