Rosalee Friedmann Barnes, age 83 of Madison passed away September 16, 2022 surrounded by her family. Rosa was born in Nashville, Tennessee on June 26, 1939 to the late Robert Albert Friedmann, Jr. and the late Bessie Lee Tyler Friedmann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Barnes and her grandson, James Augustine “Gus” Vargason. She is survived by her daughters, Penni Renee’ Partain Carter (Ed) and Maria Lynn Partain Vargason (Brett); grandchildren, Caleb Alexander Carter, Ethan Edwin Carter, Victor Ambrose Vargason, Amelia Greer Vargason, and Thomas Anselm Vargason; siblings, Ann Marie Friedmann Luttrell, Robert Albert Friedmann, II (Donna) and John Henry Friedmann (Mignon). A native Nashvillian, Rosa was a proud graduate of North High School, Class of 1957. She married Thomas Partain and had her two girls, Penni and Maria who she raised in Madison. Later she married Charles “Chuck” Barnes until his passing in 2002. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren dearly and she will be deeply missed. A Graveside Service will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with Caleb Carter, Ethan Carter, Ambrose Vargason, Thomas Vargason, Ed Carter, and Brett Vargason serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside.
