Roberta Kaplan, age 80 of Gallatin, passed away at home on Friday, January 5, 2018.
She was a devoted, loving and supportive mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Roberta devoted her life to her family. Having taught in the California and Tennessee school systems for 54 years, she is known as an incredible educator and role model. She always put others before herself. She is responsible for acting the role model of Matriarch for her family. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her daughter and son-in-law, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. She is an inspiration to all who knew her.
Roberta is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Sylvia Silberman; and her sister, Anne Keowns. She is survived by daughter, Beth (Arnold) Rickert; her grandchildren, Erik (Brittni) Rickert, Matthew (Courtney) Rickert, Nicole (Gary, Jr.) Craddock, Amzi-Lynn Rickert, and Brittany Rickert (Stephen); and her great-grandchildren, Isabella Craddock, Benjamin Craddock, Owen Rickert, Adalynn McDonald, Kylee McDonald, and Skylar Rickert.
Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 10, from 4-6pm and a Celebration of Life Memorial Service honoring her will begin at 6pm officiated by Rabbi Nancy Tunick.
