Pearl Elizabeth Dennis Jones

Pearl Elizabeth Dennis Jones, age 88 of Hendersonville, passed away July 23, 2023 surrounded by her family. Pearl was born in Nashville on March 25, 1935 to the late Louis Douglas Dennis and the late Nancy Louella Burgess Dennis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Maxey Odell Jones; and siblings, Helen Humes, Dorothy Hampton, Evelyn Wheeler, L.D. Dennis, and Arthur Dennis. Pearl is survived by her loving and adorable daughter, Jennifer Anglin (Phillip); grandchildren, Lauren (Wesley) Fox, Ben Anglin (fiance’ Rose Hasselblad), and Claire Anglin; great grandchildren Hadley Fox, Parker Fox and Hunter Fox; many nieces and nephews.

A lifelong resident of the Nashville area, Pearl was a graduate of North High School in Nashville; she and her late husband Maxey made their home in Hendersonville where they were longtime members of Hendersonville Church of Christ. Pearl and Maxey graciously opened their home to many foster children and she was a proud foster mom for over 15 years. Over the years she worked at NES and later retired from Castner-Knott, where she went to work when Jennifer was in high school. Pearl loved a sausage biscuit from McDonald’s at any time of day and told her daughter that every girl needs a little chocolate-her favorite being the Hershey’s snack size.

A Graveside Service honoring Pearl will be held 2:45 P.M., Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Spring Hill Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved Maxey. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside.
