Patricia Sue Powell

Patricia “Pat” S. Powell, 73, of Dandridge, Tennessee passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024. She was born on January 13, 1951 in Milan, Tennessee to Orville Walker and Mildred Margery Chappell. 

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from East Tennessee State University, where she also distinguished herself as a member of the honor society Phi Kappa Phi. In her free time, Pat enjoyed gardening, reading, listening to her music collection, spending time with loved ones, and her beloved cats, Bobby and Bashful. She will be remembered for her loving outgoing spirit that made you feel welcomed, cherished, and loved.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Orville Walker and Mildred Margery Chappell; and son, Donnel Avery Powell. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Avery Powell; sons, John White (Shelia) of Portland, TN and John Powell (Kelly) of Muscle Shoals, AL; daughters, Jenna Campbell (Jamie) of Cookeville, TN and Victoria Trautman of Port Clinton, OH; brother, Gary Chappell of Gallatin, TN; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild, and a host of family and friends.

A celebration of Pat's life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 15, 2024 at Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service, as well as immediately following the service at the funeral home. The family would like to extend their gratitude to White House Healthcare and Rehabilitation of White House, TN for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
