Michael Lee Moss

Michael Lee Moss, age 74, of Joelton, Tennessee passed away on May 3, 2023. Michael was
born on April 4, 1949 in Portland, Tennessee to the late Benjamin Joseph and Mary Elizabeth
Moss.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca Taylor Moss;
and brother, Donald Joseph Moss.

Michael is survived by daughter, Lauren (Tony) Melet; grandchildren, Mason, Sophie, and Ava;
stepdaughter, Hailey Stover; stepson, Christopher Stover; brothers, David(Wanda) Moss and
Bill(Pam) Moss; his previous wives, Marybelle Hunter and Sherry Shell; and numerous extended
family members and friends.

Michael was an MP Army Veteran stationed in Germany; after the Army, Mike went on to
college where he got his criminology degree. Mike started his Police work in Smyrna before
moving on to Metro where he hung his hat until retiring as a Homicide Detective.
Mike loved hunting especially with his shotgun. He loved gun sports and let that develop into a
collection of African hunting books. Mike loved to cook, specializing in wild game, he became
an accomplished BBQ cook and would win awards for his dishes. Mike was a family man; he
loved his family and spending time with them whenever he got the chance.

A Memorial service will be held to honor Mike at a later date.
