Michael Kohari, Jr., age 69 of Hendersonville, passed away May 31, 2024, at home with his wife and children. Mike was born on September 17, 1954, in South Williamson, Kentucky, to the late Rev. Michael Kohari, Sr. and the late Jewell Blackburn Kohari of Forest Hills, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Pacific of Forest Hills, Kentucky. What a reunion they are having in heaven.
Mike is survived by the love of his life—his soulmate—and wife of 47 years, Susan Honaker Kohari; children, Bradley (Amanda) Kohari and Kristin (Daniel) Jenkins; grandchildren, Sara and Abby Jenkins, Logan and Olivia Kohari; uncle, Joey Kohari; brother-in-law, David Pacific; sister-in-law, Jackie (James) Davis; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Mike was born in South Williamson, Kentucky, and graduated from Belfry High School. Mike started singing solos in church when he was just 12 years-old. He loved to sing for Jesus, and you never knew when he would break out in a song.
Mike always drove a Jeep so it was fitting that he was a car salesman at Gary Mathews Motors for many years. He was a true outdoorsman, enjoying boating with his wife and hunting with his many friends. Mike was an avid deer and turkey hunter who loved to share his passion for the sport with others. For the past 23 years, Mike has been a member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville.
He loved his family with all his heart and was the very best husband, dad, poppaw, son, and brother possible.
