Melissa Gale Wix-Medlock

Melissa Gale “Missy” Wix-Medlock, age 55 of Gallatin, passed from this life at her mother’s home in Portland, TN. She was born on September 16, 1969 in Portland, TN to the late Larry Wayne Butcher, Sr. and Wanda Gale (Suttle) Butcher. Missy was a 1987 graduate of Portland High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Portland, TN. She spent her career working as an administrative support professional at the Sumner County Clerk’s Office, a bonding company, and various legal firms and granite companies in the Gallatin area.

Missy deeply loved her family (especially her granddaughters), the cherished friends she met through the years and her furry friends, Simba and Zoey. She had a fun personality and a loving and kind spirit that she shared with us all through the years and gave us all some precious memories that we will cherish forever.

Missy was preceded in death by her father, Larry Wayne Butcher, Sr. She is survived by her husband, Deano Medlock; her children, Christopher (Sarah) Wix, Collin (Laura) Wix; mother, Wanda Gale Butcher; brother, Larry Wayne (Shannen) Butcher, Jr.; grandchildren, Charlee Wix, Carlee Wix and Adrianna Wix; nephews, Kolbey Butcher, Karsen Butcher; family friend, Wanda Sweeton; and her furry friends, Simba and Zoey.

A Celebration of Missy’s Life will be held on March 1, 2025 at the Portland Church of Christ Fellowship Hall at 1:00 P.M.
