Maxey Odell Jones was born on November 9, 1934 and passed away on August 14, 2022. He grew up in Robertson County in Tennessee. He graduated from and played football for White House High School. He worked in the grocery business in various stores where he discovered his love for perfectly placed produce. He settled at Malone and Hyde Grocery Wholesalers where he retired as a retail counselor.
Maxey loved fishing and mowing grass. He always said that all problems can be resolved on the lawn mower.
Maxey’s greatest accomplishment in life will not be in anything he did but in who he raised. His pride and joy was his daughter, Jennifer. He devoted his adult life to cherishing her and spending time with her from Saturday outings to learning to pitch softball and completing remodeling projects. It didn’t matter what they were doing as long as they were together.
After Jennifer grew up, Maxey began to nourish the next generation in his grandchildren. He taught them to fish and took them on Saturday outings as well.
Maxey made many friends and influenced many people along his life’s journey by helping others. He was a long-time member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Pearl Dennis Jones, daughter Jennifer (Phillip) Anglin, grandchildren Lauren (Wesley) Fox, Ben Anglin, and Claire Anglin, great grandchildren Hadley Fox, Parker Fox and Hunter Fox, sister Martha (Claude) Carpenter and many nieces and nephews.
