Mary Elizabeth Clinard Lohr, “Granny” age 97, passed away at Rambling Oaks rehabilitation facility in Highland Village, TX. January 16, 2022. She was born July 7, 1924 at her home in the community of Mt. Sharon in Robertson County, TN. The family moved to Nashville where she went to school and ultimately graduated from North High School. Even though she was offered opportunities to further her education, Elizabeth decided to go to work. Working as a Rosie the Riveter at Vultee and in top secret processes at Oakridge was her contribution to WWII. She met her handsome Army Lieutenant, Weldon Lohr, in downtown Nashville and married him a short time later. Her work history continued with Davis Cabinet Co Credit Union; then to the post office Credit Union and finally, many years with Tennessee Real Estate. All admired her work ethic and devotion to her responsibilities. Elizabeth was a very devout Christian that loved her church, her family and her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Virgie Clinard, brothers, James, Fred and Billy Clinard, and sister, Odell Wallace. She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Jean Lohr Matthews (John), two granddaughters, Brigette Webb (Greg) and Sandy M. Seekings (Tommy) and five great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Charity of Choice.
