Marilyn "Sissy" Thomas

November 16, 1951 — January 22, 2025

Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Marilyn “Sissy” Thomas, a lifelong resident of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, departed her earthly life January 22, 2025 with her family by her side. She was seventy-three years old. Sissy is survived by her husband, Jim; her daughter, Jamie Rainey (Colby); grandsons, Tucker and Taylor Rainey; her sister, Beth Frost and her brother, Robin Frost (Tammy). Sissy loved her in-law families and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miles and Jo Frost and her brother, Butch Frost (Alice).

After graduating from Goodlettsville High School, Sissy obtained a degree in finance and marketing from the University of Tennessee. Her professional career time was spent in the telecommunications and technology industries as well as residential real estate in her later work life.

Sissy grabbed everything good that she could in life…in her faith in God, her family, her friends and in those who needed her hand to get back up. Cruising European rivers and visiting America’s national parks brought joy to Sissy in her retirement years with Jim. Immense happiness for her was putting a loving stitch in her next quilting art piece or picking up another seashell as she waded the waters edge in Gulf Shores…and she went all out to enjoy that happiness.

A time to celebrate Sissy’s life with family and friends will happen February 24, 2025 from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at The Sand Trap, 1201 Twelve Stones Crossing in Goodlettsville. For those wishing to do so, she can be remembered by supporting the ministries of Connell Memorial United Methodist Church, 113 Church Street, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.

“My chains are gone. I’ve been set free. My God, my Savior has ransomed me. And like a flood, His mercy reigns. Unending love. Amazing grace!” (Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio)
