Margie Broemsen, age 76 of Gallatin, TN passed away at home, surround by family, January 1, 2023. Margie was a fiery spirit who loved her family. Her favorite thing to do was traveling and dancing… so much so that she squared danced from Tennessee to Daytona Beach. She lived by the beach for over ten years. She loved the ocean, dolphins, and turtles. She was born in rural Sumner County in 1946, the youngest of six children.
She had three major loves; Hiley Clifton Spurlin, John Mark Bussey, and Ralph Broemsen. These grand loves lead to four sons and one daughter, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Margie was preceded in death by parents, Lillie Mai Hardaway and James Oscar Hardaway; husbands, Hiley Clifton Spurlin and Ralph Broemsen; siblings, Ruby Riley, Edna Hosale, Vera Hallett, and James Hardaway; and grandchild, Johanna Webster.
She is survived by her second husband, John Bussey; sister, Joyce Holt; children, James (Kathy) Spurlin, Little Johnny (Lisa) Bussey, John Mark (Felicia) Bussey Jr., Jeff Bussey, Cindy (Keith) Gann; grandchildren, Jason, Kimberly, Katie, Jennifer, Bubba, Ashely, Brandon, Christina, Kayla, Amanda, Kim, Ari, April, and Shelby. She had a large extended family, that loved her dearly, but not as much as she loved them. She never missed the opportunity to spend time with her nieces, nephew, and grandchildren or dance at the next family function. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date and times will be announced when available.
