Margaret Louise Wiseman, age 94 of Gallatin, passed away peacefully at her home on January 12, 2025 surrounded by her family. Born on August 17, 1930, in South Tunnel, Tennessee, to the late R.A. "Chief" Adams and the late Cordie Adams, Margaret lived a life rich in love, friendship, and faith.
Margaret was a proud member of the Gallatin High School Class of 1949, and enjoyed class reunions over the years where she could reconnect with her classmates. Throughout her life, she held many job positions, yet it was her time at the Vandor Dress Shop and McHaile Drugs that she cherished the most. There, she formed lasting bonds with colleagues and customers, creating a tapestry of friendships that enriched her life immeasurably.
A great cook, Margaret was known for the warmth that radiated from her home. Many cherished memories were made around her dining table, where laughter and love intermingled with the aromas of her delicious meals. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her culinary talents; her Christian influence, unwavering encouragement, and generational prayers created a profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Margaret’s dedication to her family stood as her proudest accomplishment. Alongside her husband of 61 years, J.W. Wiseman, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her daughter, Debbie Hobdy (Danny) and all of her grandchildren. Nothing brought her greater happiness than the love she shared with them, which blossomed through countless moments of joy and tenderness.
Margaret's legacy also includes her dear granddaughter: Elizabeth Hobdy Jones (Brad), and her great-grandchildren, Ava, Isaac, and Jacob Jones, Vanessa, and Samantha Hobdy, Sierra, and Dylan Barrett. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by her granddaughter-in-law, Bridgett Hobdy, and special friends Vickie Milliken, Debbie Holland, and Joe Inman, along with her longtime friend and caregiver, Deborah Case. The extension of her love also enveloped the Armistead family, who she fell in love with immediately and in return they showed her deep admiration, respect, and most importantly love.
In remembering Margaret, we can’t help but reflect on the grace and light she brought into our lives. A charter member of the First Assembly of God in Gallatin, she served faithfully in her church community as the church pianist and Sunday school teacher, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of many.
Margaret is now reunited with her beloved husband, J.W. Wiseman, her siblings, Daniel Adams, Betty Adams, and Billy Adams; her grandsons, William and Danny Hobdy, and her special friend, Raymond Armistead, in eternal peace.
As we gather to celebrate her life, we invite you to join us in honoring the memory of this extraordinary woman. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Ramsey Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Gallatin, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM in the Church Sanctuary. Interment will follow in Halltown Cemetery in Portland, TN.
Margaret Louise Wiseman leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
