Margaret Allgier Richardson Hunter was born in Smith County, TN on September 9, 1922 and she passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her residence in Gallatin at the age of 94.
Mrs. Hunter was the daughter of Solon Finley and Mary Elizabeth Snoddy Richardson. She was a member of the Gallatin First United Methodist Church, member of the retired teachers association, treasurer for Salem Community Club, volunteer for Gallatin Cares and children ministry at the Sumner County Jail and member of the Hester Ward Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Finley Richardson and grandson, Christopher King.
Survivors include son, Jim (Betsy) Hunter of Gallatin; three daughters, Mary Belle Hunter of Murfreesboro; Amy (Mikea) King of Bluffton, SC and Cathy Hunter of Gallatin; six grandchildren, Johnny King, Emily King, Hunter Scott, Lauren Moss, Robert Hunter and Rachael Dodd; seven great-grandchildren, Lilly Hunter, Myra Hunter, James Hunter, Addie Dodd, Finley Dodd, Mason Moss and Sophia Moss; two sisters, Betty Hawkins of Signal Mountain, TN and Mary Walker of Fayetteville, TN.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Gallatin First United Methods Church, 149 West Main Street, Gallatin conducted by Rev. James Johnson. Visitation will be Sunday, December 18, 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the church and on Monday, December 19, 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Robert Hunter, Johnny King, Hunter Scott, Caleb Dodd, Mike King and Steve Richardson.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gallatin CARES.
