Malia Marie Marshall, age 21 of Gallatin, passed away unexpectedly March 31, 2023. Malia was born on November 17, 2001 in Hendersonville, Tennessee to Gabriel Marshall and Cindy Marshall.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Johnnie B. Johnson and Willis Terry Johnson. Malia is survived by her parents, Cindy Marshall and Gabriel Marshall; grandparents, David and Leta Johnson and James and Sherry Marshall; great-grandparents, Bill and Silvye Beason; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Malia was a very adventurous person; she enjoyed traveling and seeing new places; she loved any kind of animal or insect; she loved plants and growing them; she enjoyed fishing and horses; Malia loved all kinds of music and singing karaoke. She was a cheerleader and participated in dance in middle school and while attending Portland High School. After graduating from high school she obtained her Associate’s Degree from Volunteer State Community College in 2022. Malia will be remembered for being passionate and outspoken for the causes she believed in and for her great sense of humor.
A celebration of Malia’s life will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville with Mike Potts officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.
