LUCINDA LOUISE FREED, 75, passed into the beautiful presence of God on May 8, 2022. Teacher, minister, counselor, advocate for the unborn and the disadvantaged, daughter, sister and friend, she is affectionately known as “Luci”.
A graduate of Hendersonville High School and Lipscomb University, Luci began her impactful career as a Home Economics teacher at Hendersonville High School. She then became the first Youth Pastor at the Hendersonville Chapel where she ministered to hundreds of teens the life changing love and grace of Christ. In 1983 she became the first Executive Director of the Nashville Crisis Pregnancy Center, now the Hope Clinic for Women. For over 20 years Luci was a driving force in Nashville for saving the lives of unborn children and providing help for mothers in crisis. Her love and compassion for women in difficult circumstances has saved and enhanced thousands of lives. Her legacy lives on today through the Hope Clinic.
In 2003 Luci continued her life journey as a licensed professional counselor in private practice and continued this until her death. Luci was first and foremost a lover of Christ, then it was people, the beach, working out and cats! Her impact on this world will be remembered through the many lives she loved well and the example she personified in standing firmly for the truth of God’s Word.
Luci is preceded in death by her loving parents, John E. and Rosetta Zumbro Freed and brothers John Morris and John Oliver Freed. She is survived by several generations of first, second and third cousins and many dear friends.
A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, May 20th at 3PM at the Community Church of Hendersonville, with visitation at 2PM.
