Linda Louise Powelson, age 65 of White House, TN, passed away Tuesday April 9, 2019.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She was an accomplished and popular singer and entertainer, known in the music business as Linda Nail. Linda recorded many songs and some of these found their way into the Billboard Top 100 Charts. She was a long-time performer at Opryland USA and was featured in the Country Music USA show. Linda was one of the very first to perform as Minnie Pearl. She was very passionate about music and life.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Rose. She is survived by her son, Chris Powelson; daughter, Lauren (Drew) Rigsby; grandchildren, Haley Gill, William Powelson, Ella Grace Rigsby, Bennett Dale Rigsby; sisters Barbara (Johnny) Flynn, Becky Shackelford, Penny Margrave; and a daughter-in-law, Melissa Powelson.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2019 from 4pm until 8pm and again on Saturday, April 13 from Nnoon until the Celebration of Life Service at 2pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Pastor Lloyd Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Municipal Cemetery with family and friends serving as pall bearers.
