Lawrence P. Thompson, Jr.

Lawrence P. Thompson, Jr. passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on July 7, 2024 after a year long battle with cancer. 

Born in Bath, Maine on April 2, 1943 to L. Paul and Rose Nickerson Thompson. He grew up in Levittown, Pa where he graduated from Woodrow Wilson H.S. in 1961 and Penn State University in 1966. 

He and his family moved to Gallatin, TN, where they have been residents for over 30 years. 

Larry was the beloved husband of Sue Pickens Thompson for almost 60 years and the father of Laura (Hoyt) Kemp, Shannon (Chuck AKA Bubba) Williams, Rick (Lisa) Stebbins of Gallatin, and Sheryl (Bruce) Pannone of Levittown, Pa, plus bonus dad to Tammy Carlisle and Will Rommell. He was a wonderful Pop-Pop to his grandchildren Jay (Kellie), Jeffrey (Natalie), James, and Valaurie Adams, Bryce and Chase Pannone, Logan, Lucas, and Lily Williams, Kevin Sadler, Victoria and Allison Stebbins, Sullivan Carlisle, Chloe and Brianna Rommell and his great-grandchildren Gracelynne, Annabelle, Oliver, and Caleb, plus one on the way! 

A beautiful celebration of life was held on Saturday July 13th where many friends and family gathered to share love and memories of the man we all knew was one of the good ones!
