Larry Norman Johnson, age 72, of Gallatin, passed away on Tuesday September 24, 2019 at Sumner Regional Medical Center.
Larry was born in Portland, TN on Thursday, July 17, 1947, son of William Edward and Gladys Erlene Brown Johnson. Larry worked as a steel worker and a Veteran of the U. S. Marines. While serving with the marines he was awarded the Purple Heart, Vietnamese Campaign Medical and Vietnamese Service Medal. He was a member of the Rock Bridge Missionary Baptist Church where he was saved in 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Eugene Johnson. Survivors include his son, Tommy (Courtney) Johnson of White House; daughter, Tonia Lynn Johnson of Portland; sisters, Betty Perry of Bethpage and Charlotte Burton of Orange Beach, AL; grandchildren, Thomas Dylan Johnson, Bayleigh Renea Johnson, Teagan William Johnson and McKenzie Beggin. Visitation will be held on Friday, Sep 27 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Rock Bridge Missionary Baptist Church, Whitson Road, Bethpage, TN and again on Saturday, Sep 28 from 10:00 to 12:00 PM at the church.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Sep 28 at 12:00 Noon at Rock Bridge Missionary Baptist Church.
Burial will take place at Rock Bridge Cemetery on Whitson Road in Bethpage following the funeral service.
Services will be officiated by Brother Joe Porter. In lieu of flowers gift card memorials can be made to Mr. Johnson's special needs daughter, Tonia Johnson. Sumner County Funeral and Cremation Services assisting the family with arrangements. 615-452-9059
