Kirstie Joy Mize

Kirstie Joy Mize, age 33 of Hendersonville, TN passed away March 12, 2022. She was born in Gallatin, TN on September 24, 1988 to Richard Lee Mize and Joy Lynn Redner.

Kirstie attended Hunters Lane High School and graduated from Gaither High School in Tampa, FL. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of South Florida in 2011 and her Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2014. She will be remembered by family and friends for her love of shopping, traveling, her adventurous nature, always trying new things. She loved to pamper herself but she enjoyed taking care of others more. She loved family gatherings and her nephews were one of her favorite hobbies.

Kirstie was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Agnes S. Redner; great uncle, William D. Redner; aunt, Reyline Redner; “nana”, Nancy Dodge; and grandfather, Howard Creekmore.
She is survived by her parents; significant other, Lorenzo Gibson; sister, Agnese “Sesa” (Joshua Malcolm) Henderson; honorary sister, Celeste Grant; nephews, Cameron Henderson, Tristan Kilmon, Anthony Kilmon, and Caidyn Scott; grandfather, Joe Redner; grandmother, Betty Liles; and numerous extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Kirstie’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside Chapel with Rev. Mark Grubb officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Cemetery with Lorenzo Gibson, Joshua Malcolm, Cameron Henderson, Tristan Kilmon, Anthony Kilmon, and Cedric Scott serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
