Kathryn Margaret Nicastro

Kathryn Margaret Lang Nicastro of Portland, Tennessee formerly of Yalesville, Connecticut, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023, at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
She was born on October 6, 1939, in New Rochelle, New York, to the late Thomas and Margaret Murphy Lang.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 61 years, Joe (Joseph) and her daughters Laura (Kevin) Baigert and Linda Stankiewicz, her granddaughters Marie Norman (Mike Testa) and Amy Stankiewicz (Eric Sbona), siblings William (Darlin) Lang, Mary (David) Wilson, Peter (Renay) Lang, Rita Lang (and John Terry) and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Margaret.
A devoted lover of the Holy Family, Jesus, Mary and Joseph, Kathryn and Joe attended Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hope Hill Road in Yalesville, Connecticut for 42 years on Sunday, holidays and daily after her retirement. Later, they attended Our Lady of Lake on Stop Thirty Road in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Kathryn enjoyed sewing her entire adult life, making clothes for herself and her daughters when they were young, as well creating a number of different types of home décor items. She was always ready to lend her expertise and efforts in sewing or mending things for others. She also liked to crochet, making numerous afghans, often as gifts for family members.
Scheduling appointments as frequently as possible, over the years Kathryn donated over 15 gallons of blood through the American Red Cross.
