Karen Lucas, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished member of the St. Clairsville community, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Brookdale Senior Assistive Living Community in Gallatin, TN.
Born in Glencoe, OH, Karen Lucas was a longtime resident of St. Clairsville, OH, where she made a lasting impact during her 20+ year career at the local DMV. Her warm presence and dedicated service left a meaningful mark on those she encountered, and her kindness extended well beyond her work. A faithful member of the St. Clairsville Church of Christ, she lived her life with love, compassion, and a deep sense of community.
Karen Lucas was the proud mother of two children, Amy (Brian) Sheppard and David Lawson Jr., and the beloved grandmother to Matthew Keith Sheppard, Jill (Matt) Ruskin, and Honeylynn Hartwell. She treasured her role as a great-grandmother to Simone Sheppard, Judah Sheppard, Cash Ruskin, and Smith Ruskin. She also shared a special bond with her cousin, Louise Matuski, whom she lovingly considered more like a sister.
Her family was her pride and joy, and she often reminded them of her love with the simple yet profound words: "Love You Muchly." Her warmth, generosity, and devotion will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
Karen Lucas leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and faith that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
