Julia Braly Sharp, age 86 of Cottontown, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018.
Mrs. Sharp was born in Pulaski, TN, on April 1, 1931. She and her husband of 64 years, Charles Russell Sharp, moved to Hendersonville in 1952 and watched the community grow from a small rural town to a thriving city. Mrs. Sharp was fond of saying she watched Old Hickory Lake rise. An accomplished seamstress, she was never sitting without knitting or embroidering. Family and friends benefited from her handiwork. Mrs. Sharp and her husband have been members of the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church for more than 60 years. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women.
Julia is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Douglas Braly and Mary Lou Braly.
In addition to her husband, Charles Russell Sharp, she is survived by two daughters, Patricia Gail (Rod) Lenker and Cheryl Kay (Randy) Tatum; four grandchildren, Chuck (Allie) Kincheloe, Julie Kincheloe, Rusty (Lacy) Tatum and Chris (Sarah) Tatum; and 12 great-grandchildren of whom she was very proud.
Her Family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Friday beginning at 11:30am until her Celebration of Life Service at 12:30pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Rev. Randy Goodman and Bob Snell officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Followers Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women. Active pallbearers are Chuck Kinchloe, Rusty Tatum, Chris Tatum, Tom C. Sharp III, Tom Webster, Beau Gessler, Mark Ector, and Tim Ector.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the United Methodist Women’s Mission Fund at Hendersonville First United Methodist Church.
