Judith Joy Petersen
February 13, 1940 — April 30, 2022
Ms. Judith Joy Petersen, 82, went to be with Jesus on April 30, 2022.
Joy lived a full life of caring for God's people and creatures. She worked as a nurse, giving over 30 years of service to Macon County General Hospital. She rescued wildlife and pets throughout her life, taking in many dogs with a gentle and loving heart.
She is survived by her son Chris, his wife Julie, and their son Zane; her daughter Julie and her husband Michael; son-in-law, Sam and his wife Kelli; her sister Clara; many friends and family members whom she loved dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Judith Austin; brother, Jimmy Austin; sister, Jean Brett; and sister-in-law, Dixie Bauer.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, May 26, 2022, from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Macon County Welcome Center, 685 Highway 52 Bypass West, Lafayette (Chamber of Commerce).
In lieu of gifts/flowers, please give to the charity of your choosing.
