Mr. Joseph Harold Shanes

Joseph Harold Shanes, age 86 of Hendersonville, passed away on Monday, August 29, 2016. He was a beloved greeter at Walmart. He was the 99th person to receive his Master Plumbers license, and was the owner of Joe Shanes Plumbing Company. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great- grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah & Nellie Shanes; siblings: James Munroe Shanes, Elmer Russell Shanes, Gerald St. Valentine Shanes, Preston Shanes, Delmas Ray Shanes, & Linda Sue Shanes. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Aubreita Shanes; Children: Brenda (Johnny) Allen, Teresa (Jimmy) Wilson, Joel (Dawn) Shanes, Jerry (Tammy) Shanes, Melissa (Alan) Burroughs; brother: Virgil Earl Shanes; sisters: Betty Lou Glenn, and Jeanel Thrower; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter.
His family will see friends at Austin & Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Service from 4:00-8:00 pm, Friday, September 2, 2016, and 7:00 pm Masonic Service. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
