John Wesley Riadon, III, age 83 of Hendersonville, passed away January 30, 2023, surrounded by his family. John was born on July 22, 1939, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late John Wesley Riadon, Jr. and the late Polly Turner Foster.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Riadon; step-father, James M. Foster; sister, Sarah Massey; and brother, Jimmy Foster. John is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly Riadon; daughters, Yvette Riadon (Chuck Jackson) and Julie Poole (Tony); grandchildren, Nicole Deline (Harley), Courtney Cook (Bo), Bethany Spore, Chris Spore, Alex Spore, Chaz Poole (Brittany), and Chelsey Brown (Matthew); 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Wise. John was born in Nashville and raised in Inglewood.
He was a proud graduate of Isaac Litton High School and a veteran of the Air National Guard where he served as an air medic. John and Beverly moved their family to Hendersonville in 1967 where they raised their family. He owned and operated John Riadon Properties working in residential and commercial development. His final development was Hazel Path, a commercial and residential development located in the heart of Hendersonville. John loved Hendersonville and worked hard to make it a wonderful place to live; he even donated the land for the current site of Hendersonville High School. For the last 55 years John has been an active member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville, serving as a lifetime deacon, teaching Sunday School, and being involved in many projects and committees. John had a true heart for God and worked hard to be a witness and disciple for Christ, he was saved at 12 years old and led many people to Christ even up until his final days.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. from First Baptist Church Hendersonville with Dr. Bruce Chesser officiating. Interment will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Chaz Poole, Chris Spore, Alex Spore, Harley Deline, Bo Cook, Matthew Brown, Conner Simpson, and Clayton Simpson as Active Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernie Hill, Ken Carpenter, Dr. Bill Shannon, Dr. Conrad Shackelford, Corky Jennings, Bobby Williams, Bruce Raley, Ray Clark, Billy Moorfield, Jim Smith, Al Ballenger, members of his Sunday School/Connect Groups over the years, Deacons of First Baptist Hendersonville, and the Ruby’s Mens Lunch Club. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the church.
