John W. Nutter, age 72 of Gallatin, passed away August 30, 2021. John was born on October 3, 1948 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Cree Nutter II and the late Emily Nutter. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Kathie Kraus. He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Nutter; children, Leanne Merritt (Mike), Lori Trew (Jason) and Jason Medlin (Ashley); brother, Cree Nutter (Becky); grandchildren, Graem Merritt, Mara Mann, Blake Medlin, Lilly Grace, MacKenzie, and Charlie; Step- grandchildren, Brandon Hefton, Amy Hefton, and Rachel Hefton; special friends, Gary Jones, Buddy Dismang, Howard Hicks, Don Cunningham, Steve Mangrum, James Shelton, and many more. John was born in Louisville, Kentucky and raised in Jeffersonville, Indiana, obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from the University of Indiana, and was a member of Rehoboth Methodist Church. He worked for many years up until retirement for Kraft Foods and enjoyed working with Second Harvest Food Bank until his health declined. John was a member of the Reel Men of God Fishing Club, the last night he fished with them he won the award for the biggest fish; he always said “Nutter is my name and fishing is my game.” A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at Rehoboth Methodist Church, masks will be required for all in attendance.
