John Larry Cundall

September 17, 1938 — September 6, 2021

John Larry Cundall, age 82 of Gallatin, passed away unexpectedly on Labor Day, September 6, 2021, just 11 days shy of his 83rd birthday.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow ‘Dink’ & Jean Cundall; and sister, Glenda Cook.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Charlene Cundall; children, Kelly (Marty) Goodman of Huntsville, Alabama, Leslie (George) Mayo of Mt. Juliet, Randy (Sindy) Moore & Penny (Chuck) Tucker of Gallatin; grandchildren; Matt Goodman, Anna Goodman, Mark Mayo, Josh (Stacey) Moore, Justin (Amanda) Tucker, Chris (Kara) Tucker, and Jacob (Julie) Cunningham; great-grandchildren; Ethan Tucker, Josie Tucker, Nolin Tucker, Macie Moore, Bella Slate, Jamie Cunningham, and Ory Cunningham; siblings; Cary (Marie) Cundall of Mt. Juliet, Ron (Kathy) Cundall of Pegram, Brenda (Tony – deceased) Vickers of Clarksville, Judy (Gene) Green of Cummins, Georgia; and brother-in-law, Norris Cook; he is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Larry retired from PPG and worked many years at World of Plastics.
A man of few words, Larry will be remembered for his kind heart, his love for flying RC planes & boats, always the first to help anyone, taking his grandkids fishing, sinking a boat in Bledsoe Creek, supporting his grandkids in their favorite sports, the ‘go-to’ for all school projects, his love for painting landscapes, teaching his great grandson Ethan to drive his truck, his dry sense of humor & for never figuring out the ‘cream of wheat’ joke. Larry has had a positive impact on all our lives and he will be missed more than our hearts can express.
Larry leaves this world with a testimony of salvation. He was saved at Pipers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Portland many years ago and expressed a desire that this be shared with family, friends & loved ones in hopes they too would find salvation and meet him one day in heaven. Larry was a member of Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church in Hartsville, TN.
A private graveside service will be held at Crestview Memory Gardens with Elder Kevin Harrison & Pastor Frank Kirby officiating. Arrangements Entrusted To: Sumner Funeral & Cremation, Gallatin (615)452-9059 www.sumnerfuneral.com
