Jimmy Allen LaMarr, age 78 of Gallatin, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2024 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
Jim was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on September 4, 1946 to the late Curtis LaMarr and the late Edna Reed LaMarr.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cynthia LaMarr; children, Matt LaMarr (Casey) and James LaMarr; grandchildren, Cade, Ella Grace, and Maggie Quinn; and his sister, Gail Kerr.
Grew up in Knoxville, TN where he graduated from East High School, Attended the University of Tennessee and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology. He worked in public health and lab analysis until he transitioned to owning his own business, Environmental Sciences, doing mold testing and investigations.
Jim was a fun and playful spirit. He loved a good joke and laughing with family and friends. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking and camping with his two sons.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville with Rev. John Penfield officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 2:00 P.M. until time of service.
