Jessie Ann Derseweh

Born in Aetna, TN, on May 2, 1943, Jessie Ann Burns Derseweh passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on January 9, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Truman and Onie (Brake) Burns, and her siblings.

Jessie is survived by her children: Bobby Briley (Rhonda), Kevin Ledford (Sheri), Bruce Briley, Tammy Pearson, and Barry Briley (Amy); her grandchildren: Brad Briley, Jessika Berry (Cameron), Justen Briley (Brook), Lindsey Pence (Chris), Luke Ledford, Heather Briley, Joshua Pearson, Austin Buhl (Felicia), and Heather Christine Briley; and many loving great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jessie’s deep faith in Christ guided her life. Through her love of the Lord, she devoted herself to serving everyone she met. She worked as a registered nurse in local hospitals, doctors’ offices, and nursing facilities, dedicating her career to helping others. In her later years, she continued her life of service as a foster parent, offering a loving home and ensuring that every child she cared for felt valued and cherished.

After retiring, Jessie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and traveling. Her open heart and open door were a blessing to all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held at Sumner Funeral and Cremation Lakeside, located at 104 Sanders Ferry Road, Hendersonville, TN 37075, on Saturday, February 1, 2025. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by services at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Eric Grenier.
