Jerry Joe Kizer, age 75, of Hendersonville passed away early Monday morning, February 13, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was a kind man who never met a stranger. He proudly served his Country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam era where he received the Vietnam Service Medal and was a qualified Marksman. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Irene Kizer; daughter, Christie (Kenny) Barnes; son, Robert (Tara) Lynch; sisters, Rosemary Swing, Nancy Willis, Gradie Kizer and Janette Fields; grandchildren, Michelle Donnelly, Justin Cathey, Joli Overstreet, Jeremy Overstreet, Alayna Lynch, Austin Lynch, Tabetha Barrett, Kenny Barnes III, and Kendell Jones; great-grandchildren, Chailyn Donnelly, Angelia Donnelly, Rylan Donnelly, Brayden Overstreet, Bennett Overstreet, Abigail Cathey, Trenton Myatt and Lainey Barnes. Mr. Kizer’s family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until his Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville on Thursday, February 16, 2017 with Bro. Ray Frizzell officiating. Active pallbearers will include Terry, Mike, Jeff and Chris Gregory, Gary Swing, Stephen Willis and Jeremy Overstreet. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Kizer, Gilbert Martin, Wallace Gregory, and Gene Butler. Interment will be in Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
