Jerry Lee Ballou, age 74 of Cottontown, passed away unexpectedly March 5, 2022. Jerry was born on February 2, 1948 to the late Sam and Alice Ballou. He is survived by his son, Dirk Ballou (Maame); grandson, Kellen Ballou; sister, Brenda Ballou Keaton; twin sister, Sherry Ballou Bullion; brother, Lynn Ballou (Geneiva); nephew, Ken Davis (Robin); nieces, Tammy Vaughn (Jim), Chante’ Bullion, Shannon Bullion, Stephanie Ballou, Ashley Stone (Ron); and nephew, Winston Ballou. Jerry was a 1966 Graduate of Isaac Litton High School where he excelled in athletics, specifically track and baseball. He was a State Champion in the 100 Yard Dash and 200 Yard Dash and was named Mr. Trackman by The Tennessean; he was also drafted by the San Francisco Giants. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Nashville Fire Department with 30 years of service. Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 10:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside. Interment will follow in Beech Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Friday one hour prior to the service.
