James "Chigger" Overton

James Thomas “Chigger” Overton, age 91 of Westmoreland, passed away December 13, 2024 surrounded by his family.

Chigger was born on November 1, 1933 in Bethpage, TN to the late Lee and Nellie Overton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Overton; son, Clyde Overton; grandson, Robert Overton; and siblings, John Walter Overton, Elizabeth Moss, Lela Jay, and Theta Campbell.

He is survived by his children, Jamie Kirkham, Jimmy Overton (Teresa); step-daughter, Lisa Schultz (Chuck); 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Martha Jo Bolton, Virginia Law, and Rowenna Griffey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life honoring Chigger will be held 6:00 P.M., Monday, December 23, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church in Gallatin. Visitation with the family will be on Monday from 3:00 P.M. until service time.
