James Dwayne Hunter, age 80 of Gallatin, passed away July 28, 2022. Dwayne was born on July 8, 1942 in Paris, Tennessee to the late Harris Rozell Hunter and the late Dorotha Bernice Call Hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Willis Hunter. Dwayne is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elsie Boone Hunter; children, Kim Hunter Mimms (Terry) and Jeff Hunter (Tonya); grandchildren, Cori Beaird (Eli), Blake Hunter (Savanna), and Hunter Houston (Damian Sowers); great-grandchildren, Edwin, Davey, Bristol, Oakley, Rylan, and Lainey; sisters, Patricia Walker, Margaret Cherry and Brenda Hosford; and several nieces and nephews. Dwayne was a longtime Gideon and a proud member of Sumner East/Macon Camp which he helped start; a longtime member of Gallatin and Hendersonville Nazarene Churches; he worked in the automotive parts industry for over 60 years in both management and ownership; he opened and operated the House of Parts in Hendersonville which is still in operation under different ownership. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, August 6th, 2:00 P.M. from the Gallatin First Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Kevin Rector and Bro. James Bell officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 4-8 P.M. and Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service all at the church. Active pallbearers will be members of the Sumner East/Macon Gideon Camp. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Shehane, Matt Johnson, Lee Myers, Fred Kilmon, and Logan Martin. A second visitation for Dwayne will be held on Friday, August 12th from 4-8 P.M at Ridgeway Funeral Home in Paris, TN. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 13th, 2:00 P.M. at Olive Branch Cemetery in Henry County, Tennessee.
