James Ray Cox, age 62, of Cottontown, Tennessee, passed away on November 25, 2021, in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born on January 13, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late James Cox, and Evelyn May Kuchta.
James was born with speed in his veins. In his early teens he competed in speed skating in Louisville, Ky. Then, with his father Harold and friend Lamarr Marshalls help, he ventured into the ASA circuit. After many years of traveling and racing he started his own business Victory Lane Products and built chassis' for everything from dirt, asphalt, round track and road race for 20+ years. Even reinforcing a truck for The Mandrells to dance on. He met and worked with many great people through the years and made many friends. But his greatest joy was becoming a father and grandfather.
He is survived by children, Christina Upchurch (Michael), Tiffany Barrow; grandchildren, James Upchurch, Emma Upchurch; mother, Evelyn Kuchta (Chuck); sister, Linda Gardone; and nephews, Mason Gardone, Ian Gardone, and Eric Gardone.
