Ivy Whitson Barnes, age 84 of White House, passed away November 16, 2022 at home surrounded by her family. Ivy was born on November 17, 1937 at home in Portland, Tennessee to the late Edward Bewilder Whitson and the late Lillian Atwood Whitson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd O. Barnes, Sr.; son, Monte Christopher Barnes; six brothers and one sister. She is survived by her children, Lloyd O. “Dell” Barnes, Jr. (Kathy), Mark Barnes (Jolynn), Jamie Barnes, and Christy Barnes; grandchildren, Dusty Barnes (Jessica), Heather Brown (Benji), Joey Barnes (Jasmine), Holly Scott (Jordan), Jeremy Barnes (Jordan), Courtney Coles (Chris), Miranda Barnes, Casey Barnes, Stone Barnes, and Lilly Barnes; and 11 great-grandchildren. Ivy enjoyed sewing and making quilts for her family; she was a member of Concord Missionary Baptist Church and loved her church family. She loved her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly and will be deeply missed. Funeral Services will be conducted 12:00 P.M., Monday, November 21, 2022 from the Concord Missionary Baptist Church in White House with Pastor Morris Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Halltown Cemetery with Benji Brown, Jordan Scott, Jeremy Barnes, Joey Barnes, Casey Barnes, Stone Barnes, and Chris Coles Serving as active pallbearers; Dusty Barnes will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 3:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Monday from 10:00 A.M.–- 12:00 P.M. also at Concord Missionary Baptist Church.
