Holland White, age 84, of Hendersonville, TN, was a testament to the impact that a loving and giving man can have on his family. He passed from this life on Saturday, July 15, surrounded by those who knew and loved him as a husband, father, grandfather and hero. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Anna White; brothers, Dr. William O., Paul, Leon, James, Ramel and Jerry White; sisters, Martha Shipman and Carrie Johnson. After growing up in Decaturville, TN, Holland captured the heart of Anne Christian, and they were married on December 5, 1958. Together they created a devoted family, bonded by love, affection and humor. Todd (Suzie) White, Tracy (Jerry) Scheel and Robin Lawson were blessed to call him “Daddy”; and so many others, including his wonderful grandchildren: Jenna Warden, Whitney Kieffner, Jared, Alex and Johnathon Scheel, Kendall, Gabrielle, Keaton and Grant Lawson, Matt, Bart and Jake Dean; and his precious great grandchildren: Jase and Jayden Warden, Ledger Kieffner, Evelyn, Caroline and Lillyanne Scheel, Lincoln, Lilianna, Preston and Ashton Dean had the good fortune to know him fondly as “Pops”. He was so proud to welcome anyone, even strangers, into his home, and make them feel a part of his family. He loved having people over to cheer on the Vols, discuss the best fishing spots or enjoy a dip in the pool. Holland’s love of God was the only thing that took precedence over his family. He was a faithful follower of Christ and he shared his passion with all who knew him. Even in his final days he talked of his love for his Savior. His earthly life has ended, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all he touched and with his sweet gentle spirit. His family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18 and from 12:00 p.m. until his Celebration of Life Service at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19 at Austin and Bell Funeral Home, Hendersonville. Services will be conducted by Rev. Jeff Lake. Pallbearers will be his Grandsons and Nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Fred Bracey’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church Hendersonville. Interment will be in Hendersonville Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
