H.L. Daniels, age 82 of Gallatin, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2024. H.L. was born on December 12, 1941 in Dallas, Texas to the late Charles and Bernice Daniels.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janet Daniels; children, Jennifer Dolan (Mike), Brady Daniels (Kayce); grandchildren, Jackson Dolan, Blake Dolan, Katie Daniels, and Charlie Daniels; and sister, Denise Jones.
H.L. was a 1960 graduate of Marshall High School in Marshall, Texas and a 1966 graduate of Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech, he played football and was known as the “Golden Toe” for setting school records for his kicking. He was invited to go with the Dallas Cowboys in 1964 to their training camp and train with the team. After college, H.L. proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1973, serving a tour in Vietnam from 1967-1968. He loved hunting, fishing, and his bird dogs; he also loved to spend time with his family on the lake boating, skiing, and golfing with friends.
A Celebration of Life honor H.L. will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 11:00 A.M. at Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.
