Henry Robert Paquin went home to be with the Lord on May 20, 2022. He was 93 years old. He was a resident of Hendersonville Tennessee for the last 5 years and remained active until his passing.
Born April 19, 1929 in Faribault Minnesota. He joined the Navy at age 17 and served 2 years as a Seaman 2nd class on the U.S.S. Mount Olympus. After he was discharged, he met and married Shirley Ann Paschke also from Faribault in 1950. They had four children, Steven Robert Paquin, Christine Marie Svika, Debra Ann Paquin and Rebecca Lynne Haack.
In 1952 he moved to California to raise his young family and worked Civil Service at the Naval Ordinance Test station at China Lake. He retired from the Naval Weapons Center in 1978 and moved home to Minnesota. After his wife’s passing, he eventually settled in Tennessee.
He enjoyed a healthy lifestyle of hiking, exercising, fishing, and playing pool twice a week until the age of 91. He was a member and on the board at the Hendersonville Senior Center where he met Nita Thicksten and they shared his final 8 years of life together.
He is survived by his son Steven Paquin, and three daughters Christine Svika, Debra Paquin and Rebecca Haack, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, Monday, June 13, 2022 at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville.
