Helen Fletcher Wynn , age 92, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Mrs. Wynn was born in Robertson County, TN on March 21, 1926, the daughter of the late Fred D. and Maude Brown Fletcher. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wynn was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Lewis Wynn.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Randy) Stamps; grandchildren, Jessica (Nick) Varnado, Emma Stamps, and Will Stamps; great-grandchild, Gray Varnado; and sister, Jean Lawson.
Mrs. Wynn was a member of the St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She served the congregation as an elder and Sunday School secretary. Mrs. Wynn also served as president for the Nashville Presbytery CPWM, treasurer of the Tennessee Synod CPWM, and as a member of various committees at the denominational level of the church. Her favorite role within the denomination was serving as a Trustee for 9 years at the Cumberland Presbyterian Children’s Home.
Mrs. Wynn was a member of the Davidson County FCE club for 50 years, serving as an officer at the local, regional, and state levels. She served on the U.T. Agricultural Extension Advisory Council and also on the Metro-Davidson County Agricultural Committee. Mrs. Wynn taught millinery several years for Metro-Davidson County Adult Education. She was also a member of the Lakeview Garden Club.
Mrs. Wynn was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was an avid basketball fan and especially loved the TN Lady Vols. Mrs. Wynn enjoyed sewing, crafting, and creating jewelry.
Visitation will be held at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at St. Luke Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Friday at 11 am with Dr. Dwayne Tyus officiating and active pallbearers, Will Stamps, Nick Varnado, Frederick Lawson, Larry Cline, Robert McBride, Glenn Law, Terry Harris, Pat Patterson and as Honorary Pallbearers; The Fellowship/Fidelity Sunday School Class. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Springfield, TN.
