Helen Sekera Garst

Helen Sekera Garst, age 90, of Springfield, TN, died May 3, 2023. Her funeral will be held Thursday, May 18, 2023, with the Holy Rosary at 11:00 a.m., followed by visitation until her funeral mass at 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Franklin, Kentucky.

Helen was born on January 6, 1933, in Dunlo, Pennsylvania, to the late Basil Krajnansky and the late Elizabeth Sekera. She was preceded in death by brothers Mike and John Sekera, sisters Mary Madigan, Ann Bobby, Elizabeth Scharlou, and Margaret Lazor, all who gave her many special nieces and nephews, including Margaret Gail Briley, her dearest niece and friend. She was also preceded in death by sisters in law Elizabeth Garst and Agnes Tebbe.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lewis G. Garst, Son, Jeff (Michelle) Garst of Springfield, Daughter Julie (Wayne) Grant of Cross Plains, Grandchildren Josh Grant, Grant (Rachel) Garst, Maegan (Tommy) Smith, Kristina (Tristan) Bagwell, Audrey Grant, Great Grandchildren Bailey Grant, Mason Grant, and Grantley Collins Garst.

She is also survived by sisters-in-law Sr. Danielle Garst of Kalamazoo MI, Margaret Garst of
Bloomington IN, nieces Theresa Bartz, Martha Tebbe, Linda Tebbe, Rita Martin, Christa Willis, and nephew Michael Tebbe.
